Care For Your De Gordun HomewareDe Gordun homewares are for decorative use only and have not been tested for food safety. Each piece is sealed so it’s water resistant but spills should be wiped away quickly with a damp cloth & dried with a cloth. Not oven or dishwasher safe. Each piece is sealed with either wax or a sealant to give it that shiny lustre. If you find your piece had dulled, you can rub a small amount of coconut oil into the surface using a soft cloth. Allow it to absorb for twenty minutes, buff in the remaining oil and then wipe of any excess. This will allow the pigments to continue to shine through the piece whilst also continuing to keep them water resistant.

Our MaterialsAll of our products are made from Jesmonite. A water based and non-solvent, eco-resin making these materials kinder to the environment. Jesmonite is safe and easy to use and does not need specialist, protective, environmentally damaging or energy sapping equipment, such as a kiln when working with clay or extraction when working with solvent or toxic based materials. Jesmonite products can be broken down and reused within new Jesmonite products, reducing the amount of waste created when working with the material, as seen in The Posie Tray, the terrazzo chips are made from waste Jemonite. Jesmonite uses ingredients which are sourced through local supply chains to keep CO2 emissions and carbon footprint to a minimum. Primarily Gypsum is used in the material which is a renewable natural mineral.
